Most of you here probably know me from my near 40 years in the Martial Arts, and my Action Movie Career. As an only son, for the last 10 years I’ve been focused on taking care of my ailing Mother who passed in 2014 at 89 Years old, and most recently my 94 year old Father passed from end stage Parkinson’s. He was interred at Arlington Nation Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Now that I have moved to my home in Florida, I want to reach out to my International Friends and fans and get involved while continuing to pursue my passion for Martial Arts, helping implement Children programs (after school programs and Martial Arts in-school classes), Refugee and Environmental issues around the world.

As my duties as a devoted son have now been fulfilled, I look forward to making appearances at events, and showing up to support causes and making a difference. My family is all of you, and I look forward to what the future brings!  Please follow me on Social Media, visit my Instagram Account @lorenavedonofficial and keep in touch.  Please reach me or on the various QR Code images on the site to contact me via social media at any time.

Have a blessed day and I look forward to hearing from you all.

Introduction of Martial Arts movies in America

Approximately a year ago Grady Hendrix, a “New York Times” Best selling Author contacted me about being a part of his book about the introduction of Martial Arts films to Western Audiences. I was happy to help him of course. The book will be out December 7th, 2021.

The book titled “These Fists Break Bricks” is an amazing and comprehensive history of “Kung Fu” and Asian Martial Arts films released theatrically in America. Whether in “Times Square” or San Francisco’s China Town, Hollywood Blvd., etc, the release of these martial arts action movies revolutionized Action Cinema in the United States and throughout the world.

The book contains copies of movie posters, stills, interviews and is really a Bible of Martial Arts films starting from the 1970’s in America. There is also of course an interview and pictures of yours truly, Loren Avedon, as part of the Hong Kong Action films that received wide theatrical release and incredible sales on VHS and DVD here in the US and Canada.

The forward of the book is written by RZA of WU-TANG CLAN.

A brief intro from the synopsis on the back cover says it all:

“A Kung Fu craze started that would earn millions at the box office, send TV ratings soaring, influence the birth of Hip Hop, reshape the style of action we see in movies today, and introduce America to some of the biggest stars to ever hit motion picture screens.”

Thank you Grady for making me a part of this incredible Bible of Martial Arts action movies!
