Sidekicks Podcast Keith Vitali

I’m proud to announce that my Blood Brother Keith Vitali has just begun his “Sidekicks Podcast” on Youtube! Keith was kind enough to have me on his new Podcast and we talked about so many Action Film related subjects that he had to break it up in to 2 episodes! (See Youtube link below to ep.2)

It was so much fun doing the Podcast with Keith. He is a natural as a host. It is so incredible to me that one of my Martial Arts Idols, one of the best fighters in the world at one time, and the co-star of the film “No Retreat, No Surrender 3, Blood Brothers”. Which as you probably know is a legendary Golden Age of Hong Kong Cinema movie! Chose to do one of his first Podcasts with me. Wow!

Keith and I worked on NRNS3, BLOOD BROTHERS in 1989 together in Tampa, Florida. It was picked up by a distributor in the US and was seen around the world in 190 countries when it was released! Prior to that I hadn’t met Keith, but I knew all about him from seeing him on more than 100 Martial Arts Magazine covers.

I can remember going to the News Stand on Robertson and Pico Blvd in Los Angeles and seeing him on the cover of all of these amazing magazines like “Black Belt”, “Inside Karate”, “Inside Kung-Fu”, “Karate Illustrated” and many more. I was just a teenager, and knew the owner of the newsstand personally, cause back in the day, that was where you went to get all the latest issues, and he knew I couldn’t buy all of the Magazines I wanted so he would let me thumb through them. I’d see Keith on the cover(s) and immediately go to his articles and see the pictures of him kicking a Tournament opponent in the face, or side kicking someone in the ribs, reverse punching or back fisting his opponent… and I was so inspired.

Keith Vitali was the #1 fighter in the Nation for 3 years in a row! He beat everybody, it was just amazing. I idolized him, and still do.

Keith not only is one of the most talented fighter/martial artists that ever lived, but he was making movies too with people like Sho Kosugi, Sammo Hung, Jackie Chan, and Yuen Biao. All legendary film stars.

Then I met him and found out not only was he an amazing Martial Artist, he was a genuine, humble, gracious and fun person, and so great to be around and work with. It was just a joy to play his Blood Brother, and many years later to be very good friends with my former and still current Idol. I can’t say enough good things about Keith. I wish him all the success in the world and can’t wait to see him again when he comes to visit me here in Clearwater.
